SMATV Installers (Satellite Master Antenna Television)

We are the only company in Gloucestershire who are approved by the CAI as SMATV installers. This means that our Senior Design Engineer has attained the City & Guilds 3456 qualification in SMATV.

We are able to provide a comprehensive planning and design service to our customers for all SMATV systems.

SMATV systems are for the distribution of digital TV, FM, DAB & satellite. These are distributed via the system headend in a channelised format as specified by the client.

Additional facilities that can be provided on these systems include:

• CCTV
• Text generators (display logo, menus, advertising etc.)
• clock (can be displayed on radio channels)
• teletext

This allows you to provide a selection of digital TV channels, satellite channels and radio channels. This type of system is ideal for hotels where it is not practical to install individual satellite receivers in each room. It can also be used in guest houses, health clubs and hospitals etc.

The system has three main components; the aerial array, the headend and the distribution network. The headend may include channelised amplifiers, filters, equalisers and text generators for example. The distribution network would comprise of the wiring network, splitters, t-units & sockets. All the equipment used is CAI benchmarked.
